Recently back from the Caribbean Collection Cruise on Grand Princess. I'm one of those sad people who spends the end of each day filling in a journal of the day's activities. Fear not, I'm not inflicting that on you... take too long to type with one finger on each hand! However, on the last day I sat down and jotted my conclusions about the cruise. I couldn't decide whether to put them in the review section or stick them in here, so I'm doing both. That way you get to flame me if you feel so inclined!! So here goes.

Even without the prelude of three weeks ice and snow before we left the UK, this has been a very pleasant trip. It's a comfortable existence and allows us the freedom to explore as well as time to relax.

I find Grand Princess is a big ship with a small feel. The cabins are not overgenerous and a little more hanging space would have been helpful for 15 days, but then again it's little more than a refuge for sleep and rest. The worst experience of the cruise is definitely Horizon Court, where the buffet is a zoo with some dreadful passenger behaviour and gluttony, but we only had to bear it at lunch. Most days there was a carved joint and plenty of salad choice and that was fine by us. If your appetite is bigger, you can't go wrong with a wide range of meats, vegetables, pasta and rice together with gravies, sauces and dressings. A similar array awaits at Dessert.
