Our family has been looking forward to this cruise since January 2009 when we told our two sons and their wives that we would like to go on a family cruise in January 2010. So there were the six of us plus their two children who just turned 2 and 1 a couple of weeks before the cruise.

We arrived two days ahead in case of bad weather in Winnipeg and Toronto and we stayed at the Courtyard by Marriot on Fort Lauderdale Beach. It was a nice hotel and had a great location. We would stay there again. They do not, however, have a shuttle service to FLL or the port.

We used GO Shuttle to get us to the ship. They picked us up at 11:15 and we were on the ship at 12:00. Check-in was a breeze. There were no lineups there at all. The only reason it took 45 minutes was because there was a traffic bottleneck getting through the port security with a convergence of a lot of vehicles from three directions.
