My wife and I are in our early 60's and this was our first cruise - celebrating our 40th anniversary. The weather cooperated the entire week with mostly sunny skies and temperatures around 80. We got to Port Canaveral a day early and stayed at the Country Inn. The hotel is very nice, serves a complimentary breakfast, and provides parking for the week for only $20. Shuttle service to the ship took ten minutes. Upon return they picked us up five minutes after we got our luggage.

Freedom of the Seas and Royal Caribbean are first-rate. We had no complaints. We boarded at noon, had a nice lunch at the Windjammer Cafe, put our carry-on luggage in the stateroom, and toured the ship. Luggage was delivered around 3pm. Our balcony cabin was very nice with a king size bed, flat screen TV, and plenty of closet and drawer space.

The food was excellent - from the main dining rooms, to Windjammer, Jade, and several other choices. Entertainment was first class - from the ice show to several shows in the main theater. Dominick Allen's performance blew us away - it was that good. Drew Thomas was a close second.
