My husband and I planned this cruise as our annual "grown up" getaway to celebrate our early winter birthdays and late fall wedding anniversary. We have been on many cruises and are Platinum Members of Crown and Anchor Society with RCCI. We are pretty active travellers, and like to be on the go and we find that on some ships or island vacations we get a little bored if we have too many days at sea or in one place. This Navigator itinerary had 2 days at sea, but we were never bored!

Entertainment: This was our second cruise with Simeon as Cruise Director (we traded up from Grandeur with him too;-)the cruise staff was high energy with out being annoying and condescending about encouraging passenger participation. We loved that the Navigator has lots of open venue entertainment areas (Boleros, the Promenade, trivia in the piano bar etc) This means you can stroll the ship and find a something happening somewhere with out having to wander into a dead end lounge. Lots of times the music and entertainment draws you in like a good street party- the Latin band in Boleros is an excellent example of this; for an hour or so 75 people are just grooving to this great band, till the band takes a break and the party moves on to the next venue. The shows were uniformly excellent, though we tire of the self congratulation that goes on for the cruise staff and crew. The ice show was a pleasant surprise, really fun! Some of the Promenade parties were a little jammed, and on the first night, it seemed like they asked the wait staff or bar staff to parade around in costumes and they seemed very tired and low energy (and who wouldn't be after turning the ship around in a day!)

Activities: We used the large gym several days and we never waited for exercise equipment. At the pool there were loads of deck chairs (we always found a pair of chairs somewhere within shouting distance of the pools). We didn't travel during a busy kid vacation time, so the pools were not too crowded, but the adult pool was very nice and was kept adult (something I have not seen respected on other cruise lines)We also played mini golf late one evening and had the course to ourselves (the course was looking a little tired) and tried climbing the wall (get there early or be prepared to wait, though the line does move right along)

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E2

Equidistant from fore and aft stairs, there is not a lot of traffic through the hallway. Balcony roomy enough for 2, enough room to sit and stretch out your legs. From the balcony, you could hear the activities at the pool, but with the door closed to the balcony, it was silent. We noticed an occasional banging sound at night. It was hard to tell whether this was from other people shutting their doors and it re-verbed down the whole hallway, or maybe the toilet vacuum or stabilizers? It wasn't so loud that it was very disturbing, but it was a mystery! Loads of closet and drawer space, though the drawers are small. Roomier bath with curved shower curtain bar. Lots of space for toiletries here too.
