We just returned from our 1st cruise. We had a great time. We took a 4 night cruise to the Bahama's...Freeport & Nassau. We sailed on the Sensation. Our room was what we expected from the pictures. It was immaculately clean & very well maintained. Lots of closet space. Beds & linens were to die for! Bathrooms were small but not claustrophobic, maybe a light over the shower is needed but really not necessary, you can still see. Water pressure was great & plenty of hot water. Keep the bathroom door closed after a hot shower...the smoke detector will go off. (quickly resolved by the staff). No stains on the carpets or bedding. Smelled clean too. All in all it was better than we thought...nice and bright and very clean. We were really impressed by how friendly and professional everyone was...even when we all drank a little too much. The food was not excellent but above average in the dining room. If you are hungry like we always were make sure to order doubles...you get 4 shrimp in the shrimp cocktail...order 2 because the shrimp are small. The salads are good size (vinegarette is great), crab cake is wonderful. Entree's are on the small side except for pasta dishes but the food tastes very good. As mentioned before...try the melting cake, it's large enough to share! The service people are everywhere! We ran out of ice in our room, our room steward heard us mention to our friends we need more ice...poof...he brought us more. We thought we weren't going to get our room turned down one night as we took a nap late in the afternoon (too much drinking). We didn't get up until 7:30 pm, went to dinner, came back and our room was turned down. It was always turned down between 5 & 6 before. They just keep an eye on you all the time to make sure things are the way they should be. Did well in the casino...say Hey to Joseph & his wife, they both work in there. What nice people. Look for Andre' in the Polo Lounge...what a nice young man! The comedy show was hilarious! Can't remember the comedian...he was a black guy from North Carolina...he was a hoot! I laughed so hard I almost peed myself! It was a relaxing time. The weather wasn't the greatest, just meant we could spend more time relaxing. We went with friends that had cruised 7 previous times so they helped us out some when we had questions, etc. We each did our own thing but ran into them a lot! We ate most meals together. I'm anxious to go again...maybe a larger ship next time but for us this ship was the perfect size for a 1st cruise!
