We have cruised around the globe less then some and more than most from the Nile and Lake Baikal in Irkutsk, Siberia to 32 days on the Celebrity millennium from Rio to San Diego and beyond. I say this since many reviews are from first time cruisers and/or those whose cruise experience depends more on a party boat atmosphere then such as quality food, service and related amenities.
This was our first ever mini-3 nights cruise tucked between our visit with friends near Miami. One thing alone saved this cruise for us, namely, we were the guests of Atlantis Hotel for the day and that made for an awesome, memorable port of call visit. Here are my bullet points FYI:
* Good buffets, especially dinner buffets should at least mimic dining room entrees. SKY's buffets, as we checked them out, were sub-standard in quality and variety. Pork balls, fish jerky, chicken jerky, fried chicken bits and many unrecognizable dishes. Finally, we enjoyed one lunch buffet where the carver hacked up whole roast chickens...real identifiable good, tasty protein. And not even a decent pizza bar!
