Never again on RC

Sail Date: January 2010
Destination: Mexican Riviera
Embarkation: San Diego

The worst cruise we have had except for Carnival out of 20 cruises. Con: Most passengers were rude, crude and unsociable. They would rather walk through you, or over you, rather than get out of the way, or even say excuse me! That happened over & over at the Windjammer, the elevator, and the evening sitting.

The entertainment was a total amateur bust. The dancers were over-weight and clumsy, the lighting was terrible, (Peter couldn't even keep the spot light on the lead singer, or the Cruise Director), but the props were great. Then to top that off there were no lights on the dancers who were in the back ground.

The whole entertainment package started too late. You were up till Midnight if you wanted so see something, and as it turned out, there was nothing to see. Oh well!!

The bus boys and whomever was in charge or removing dishes from the Windjammer or Sea View cafe were practically nonexistent. We sat in one area next to the Sea View and the More dishes left by the Captain and others stayed there unclaimed by a busboy for 2.5 HOURS!! Of course when it came to wiping off tables with some form of disinfectant, forget it. Passengers were busing their own dishes in order to get a halfway clean table and wiping them off with their own napkins!

Food was good to better depending on what you ordered. Beef was usually over done. Lamb, except for chops, was over done. Pasta was under cooked in Windjammer or at dinner.

The hosts at the Sea View Cafe, were aloof, uppity and made you wonder what the heck you were doing there. Had a Ruben sandwich which was terrible. Wife had Fish and Chips which was tolerable, Onion rings good because they were cooked in fresh grease.

The Colony Club has a great dance floor for ball room dancing so what did they have?... a bunch of Latin drummers that did everything except ballroom dancing. So, it was the least crowded dance floor on the ship. Funny when the current pop dances are ball room.

The Piano Bar next to the Colony was used by some violin player and guitar player instead of it's obvious intended use as a PIANO BAR WITH PEOPLE SITTING AROUND SINGING AND HAVING FUN!!!!!

The only waltz, and a few nice dances, were done in the Centrum where there was a singer who did well. The tables and chairs crowded the dance floor, so the place would only fit about 10 dancers. What's wrong with the two scenarios above??

Two pools filled with salt water. UUUGGGHHH!!!!!!!

Pro:

Ships venue was outstanding, very nicely appointed. Pool tables were a blast, especially when the ship was in rough water. Almost made you sea sick.

We did My Time Dining, which was good because you could get the time you wanted and the same table and waiters. Our waiters were absolutely great. They took our every wish, when it came to what we wanted to eat, whether the cook had it or not.

Cheap cruise, got what we paid for! Less
