MSC Poesia Jan 16-23 2010 Review
The MSC Poesia is a beautiful ship and they keep it spotless.
The cabins are small but make good use of the space.
The food is only OK. Nothing awful but nothing great.
MSC is a European line and thus have a liberal smoking policy. Good if you are a smoker, bad if you detest smoking.
The onboard shopping has no convenience items so pack carefully.
The itinerary was great. Only one "at sea" day. Could have used a few more hours in port, especially Key West.
Embarkation was smooth and got our bags at 3:22PM - a new record.
Disemarkation was a tad slow but nothing to get riled over.
Kids club was adequate and the staff worked rather hard. No kids pool, unless you count the 6-inch deep kiddie pond.
The pools are unheated and do not have a shallow end for shorter people or kids.
Charges on the ship for drinks, gelato, excursions, etc were reasonable.
We got an outstanding rate with More kid sail free. It is hard to complain when the cruise line is not making any money off the discounted rates.
I would sail MSC again, but I prefer Celebrity. Less
