We are seasoned cruisers and are Platinum Members with Princess. This particular cruise from Santiago to Buenos Aries was well below are expectations. Forget the unfriendly seas, high winds & cold and rainy days. That was mother nature dealing us a bad hand. Forget the 10 hour delay in leaving Valparaizo. The biggest problem with this cruise was the ships inability to have organized and timely tendering into each port. Our first port, Porto Monte, we waited over 2 hours to board the tender. This on top of arriving very late and only have 3 hours in port. Our next tender abortion was in Ushuaia where we had a late arrival of 12pm to start with. Here we again waited over 2 1/2 hours in a public area to get a tender. Once you boarded the tender you waited on the tender making circles until they allowed you to dock. The dockmaster was allowing only one tender at a time to dock, can you imagine that, so the process was absolutely pathetic. ALso at both of these ports we had rain and waiting in line to get back to the ship we had no protective coverage or umbrellas. We waited in the rain in a very slow moving line. So out of five ports, the first one was ruined by arriving at 3pm+- with huge tender problems; the second port was timely with acceptable tendering; the third port was ruined by tendering issues; the fourth was cancelled by weather and they provided a substitute which was not of interest; and the fifth was Montevideo which was a typical large city but we did have dockage. We dreaded every time the Captain came on the speaker system figuring he had nothing but more bad news. In addition to all of the weather and delay issues we were informed near the end of the cruise that there was a mild breakout of the stomach bug, I forget the feared name it is called, and the Captain had to initiate special health safety procedures. In my opinion the Captain did not properly address the tendering shortfalls, and the huge negative impact that had on our cruise. No acceptable apologies, no special compensation of any type was offered. We will be checking out other Cruise lines in the future. I rate this cruise a C minus.
