Sail Date: Jan 2010

On January 10, 2010 we took a 7 night cruise on the Liberty of the Seas leaving from Miami with three ports of call. They were Costa Maya, Belize and Cozumel. We are from Florida and the weather was so cold we decided on a Thursday to book the cruise leaving that Sunday. We had friends that were sailing already on it, so we thought it would be a good idea to surprise them.

Booking so late, there were only interior cabins with a view of the promenade deck available. The view from the room was quite nice. It was also very quiet. During the week there were two parades on the promenade deck which we could have seen from our room if we had chosen to do so. We opted to go down and view it in person. The cabin was very small, 169 sq. ft. and had less storage area than most of the other older ships. Note: The new Oasis of the Seas and Allure will also have the same size cabins unless you upgrade.

Overall the food was very good, although limited in the choices. Usually 4-6 entrees with the same three additional meals available every night. Service was very good, although for a ship carrying over 4000 passengers, the dining room for the late seating, which we opted for to join our companions, was barely half full. There are three dining rooms, plus the availability of "My Time Dining", so that could explain the empty tables.

Cabin Review

Cabin vie

Very small room with. They have taken a lot of the storage for a refrig. The shelves around the dressing table are half the size they used to be..only two inches deep. Cannot put much in them. Only three very small drawers under the TV. The view of the promenade deck was fine. Cabin was quiet. One positive... they have done way with the plastic curtain in the shower and replaced them with a solid enclosure.
