Considering its length and itinerary, this cruise was a terrific bargain! True, NCL and the Sun are not top-line and, in spite of the crew's diligence and efforts, the Sun was very badly infected with norovirus, which it seems most of the crew and guests, including me, caught. Also many of the guests could benefit from lessons in manners, and American Airlines failed to transfer my luggage to the connecting flight from Miami to Buenos Aires, so I didn't get it until the cruise was half over. Regardless, thanks to the absolutely superb professionalism and consideration of Front Office Manager, Gilda Osorio, and her staff, especially Bruno and Yaharia, and also to fine service by the excursion and medical staffs, I had exceptional experiences and enjoyed it, except of course for the effort to not worry about my luggage, the throwing up for a few hours and the being quarantined for the required period and missing the excursion from Punta Arenas. Nevertheless, I do recommend this cruise, regardless of these problems, because it is the only one with this itinerary and because of the staunch efforts by its crew members to overcome the problems. I recommend the excursions to Peninsula Valdez, Terra del Fuego Park, the nature walk from Chacabuco, replete with delicious barbecue, pisco sours, Chilean wine and absolutely charming concert, and the excursion to the Alerce Mt. Lodge from Puerto Montt which was a true adventure and also came with a wonderful lunch and more of that wine! These were well worth the price. In addition to Gilda, Bruno and Yaharia, I want to thank Juanito and Jacolito for going out of their way to make this the best possible experience for me, in spite of the virus. And, I strongly recommend that NCL go out of its way to take especially good care of Gilda, Bruno, Yaharia, Juanito and Jacolito before RCL, Celebrity, HAL or one of the other top lines, whose marketing folks do read these commentaries, snaps them up!
