We sailed out of NYC because it was only a 2 1/2 hour car ride. DH walks with a cane and we were whisked to the front of the line. We were checked in and sitting in the MDR within 30 minutes. Leaving out of NYC was cold but the Statute of Liberty was beautiful when lit. We had 1 1/2 days of pretty rocky weather. Luckily, neither one of us get sick. Plenty to do on board during sea days. I played trivia, game shows, took a dance lesson,we played bingo but it was very expensive with low payouts. Next cruise we will not be playing. DH spent time getting to know the ship and viewing the bridge. We had a balcony which was nice because it made the room seem bigger. Plenty of storage for clothing and luggage all fit under the bed. Latitudes cocktail reception was nice. Free drinks and the Captain spoke to us and described the engine problem we were having. We would miss San Juan due to the problem. Food in MDR was good but could have used more variety. MDR should stay open later for Breakfast. Had several breakfasts at the buffet.Well organized to get food and with a little patience, tables were easy to find. Never had dinner at the buffet so I don't know how that went.On port days, pools had plenty of room, but on the warm sea days, it was very crowded with hardly any room in pool. More lounge chairs should be available with less table space by the pool. Library was a surprise. I was able to find plenty of reading materials. Next time I'll save room in my suitcase and leave my books at home. Our room stewards Rita and Artur were wonderful. We had towel animals every night and they always kept our ice filled. Cabin was clean and plenty of towels, soap, etc. Andy the cruise director could have done better. He gave the wrong times for some events and I only saw him around the ship once. Sugar and the rest of the cruise directors staff were good, but they couldn't tell you the cost of bingo until right before they started to sell the packages. Disembarkation was slow going but we found some seats on deck 6 and waited for our color to be called. It was interesting watching all the supplies being brought on for the next trip. Waiting for a porter was the longest part of leaving. But once we got one, he was friendly and took us and our luggage right where we needed to be.
we were across from the crew space and heard them bringing out their cart every morning. It wasn't a problem for us, because we get up early, but for those who like to sleep in, it could be an issue.great balcony, plenty of storage, and we only heard our neighbors one evening and of course when we would be out on the balcony at the same time
