I really hoped that I would be as objective as possible when evaluating Royal Caribbean's Voyager of the Seas, but of course that's almost impossible after a long history with another cruise line. We chose this cruise due to its embarkation port. Galveston is a day's drive from our home and that makes it a nice "getaway" cruise port.

Voyager is getting a bit old but is aging gracefully. She is about the same age as our favorite Princess ship, Grand Princess, so my comparisons will mostly be made using Grand Princess when necessary.

First off, Voyager handles dirty weather better than Grand Princess. Our cabin was on deck 10 but we didn't really feel a lot of movement. Certainly it was less than I might expect in similar conditions on the Grand.
