Disembarkation:

My family (DW, DDx2 & DM) of five flew to San Diego from Portland, OR. As the airplane descended into San Diego airport my 6 year old was thrilled to see the Oosterdam waiting in the harbor. The airport is remarkably close to the Cruise dock. We had chosen to use HALs bus transfers and found the airport staff amazingly pleasant and helpful. The bus driver was entertaining and gave a mini-tour (as much as a tour a 5 min ride gets you anyway) on the way to the dock. We arrived at the terminal and were hustled through the line in a brisk, but not brusk, gauntlet of checkpoints and HAL staff. We were greeted upon boarding the ship and since we arrived later, around 2 pm, we were able to immediately go to our cabin and drop off our carry on bags.
