Overall the cruise was a great experience. I chose this particular cruise for my 79 year old father and I entirely due to the itinerary - all days in ports with no days at sea, maximizing the countries we would visit. In other words, in this trip we were more about the ports than the ship. This itinerary included the following: Puerto Rico (origination), St. Thomas USVI, Dominica, St. Lucia, Barbados, St. Kitts, St. Maarten.

I'll go through the trip port by port below, but at the highlights for me - a nature lover, interested in the local cultures - were St. Lucia and Dominica. A shopping lover might be more oriented toward St. Thomas and St. Maarten, and a beach aficionado might like Barbados. But since this cruise included all those ports, there really is something for everyone.

The ship, the Carnival Victory, is probably a quntessential Carnival ship, and met my expectations there. Very casual, no pretense of any kind, lots of fun activities. The balcony cabins (we had the lowest category of balcony) are far larger than on many other ships, including the Dawn Princess which I sailed on several years ago. Very nice size cabin for the price.

Cabin Review

Cabin B

Perfect view, large size, no noise issues at all. This is the lowest class of balcony cabin but I honestly don't know why you would pay more.
