The Golden Princess is a lovely ship. To us, it was huge. By the next morning we felt we were doing pretty good in learning our way around the ship. There is a certain amount of having to go up and down to get to the dining room, for example.
Embarkation was quick and easy. The buffet lunch on the Lido was welcome.
Sadly we were delayed about 2 hours waiting for several hundred Canadians coming from Vancouver.
We got a bang out of "Sail Away" by Enya being played.
The Seattle skyline was impressive, even with all the clouds around.
We had dinner in the dining room with a private party. I don't recall which of the 2 dining rooms it was. The food was okay.
We thoroughly enjoyed the stage show.
For the first time ever, my husband and I had a cabin with a balcony. We enjoyed watching the passing scene. We were disappointed it was dark when we got to Whidbey Island, because we were looking forward to seeing it from the sea. Many times we have watched cruise ships passing.
We loved being on our balcony to see the arrival in Vancouver, and watching the sun come up. We have been to Vancouver many times, had not seen it from this vantage point of our own balcony. Many years ago we had stood on deck arriving from an Alaskan cruise.
The breakfast buffet on the Lido was great.
Disembarkation went smoothly. Directions were a little hazy for getting to our motorcoach for the transfer back to Seattle, but we got there easily enough. The driver and other staff gave us welcoming smiles.
All the staff we met were friendly and helpful.
Our only regret about taking this cruise was that it was not long enough!
