Embarkation My friend lives in San Diego, so we parked at the Park n Go lot on Pacific Hwy - - go to their website to get a coupon for a discount (it's $9/day with coupon). They have free roundtrip shuttle directly to the cruise terminal. The only problem we had was that apparently someone on another ship didn't clear immigration that morning, so they wouldn't let anyone off of either ship in port - - which caused a huge delay in debarkation and then our embarkation. We hung out at the parking lot for about 40 minutes, and finally headed over to the cruise terminal. Once we got there it was very fast, very smooth and we were on the ship within 30 minutes.

Stateroom We were in a D1 balcony, cabin 1588. Plenty of cupboards and space in the closet, luggage easily fit under the bed. We dropped our carry-ons and headed to Windjammer for a late lunch. When we came back to our room, we met our cabin steward, Inyoman, who was the sweetest, nicest steward I've ever had. He made us awesome towel animals every night! I have sailed many times before and I always bring treats for the cabin steward - every night when we left for dinner (late seating), I left a thank you note and treat (cookies, candy, trail mix etc.) - I had read that they appreciate treats more than "stuff" since they live 4 to a room and have little storage space. Inyoman was very appreciative of the treats, and I know that definitely helps encourage extra service! He anticipated our every need!

Dining We were at a table for 8 and had the best people to share with! One couple was on their honeymoon (we became fast friends and ended up spending most of the week with them!), one couple was in their 50's, and there was a family of 4 from Argentina - the 2 girls spoke fluent English so they helped translate for mom and dad. We had so much fun all week dining with this group! Our waiter and asst waiter were Victor and Robert - fabulous! I've never had such great wait staff! The head waiter was Tawi who was also great - he memorized all of our names after one night (amazing!). Victor and Robert constantly entertained us all every night after dessert, with little tricks using toothpicks, glasses, napkins etc. So fun! The food was always good - - if you see reviews that say the food is bad, those people must be VERY picky, because we always found something delicious to choose from. (And don't miss the flourless chocolate cake - probably the best tasting dessert ever!) We ate in the main dining room for 7 of our 9 nights - - we didn't bring formalwear so we ate in the Windjammer one night, and went to the Portofino Mystery Dinner another night - - this was cheesy but very fun and the food was great! On the second formal night, we went even though we were only smart casual and there were plenty of others dressed like us so it was no biggie. Windjammer food was awesome - - great selection for all meals. Don't miss the Mongolian BBQ - yum! Also had room service breakfast a few times, but once we discovered Windjammer breakfast we never had room service again! Poolside BBQ was amazing - - best ribs I've ever had!
