Nice Weekend Getaway

Sail Date: January 2010
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Miami

My spouse and I wanted a relaxing weekend getaway. This cruise was the right choice. We liked the Sky and found the staff to be friendly and positive. Some specifics:

Embarkation

Very easy. We arrived at terminal at 11:15. There were no lines. We had registered on line so we only needed to present ID and credit card. in less then 10 minutes were were on the ships. We had lunch and sat by the pool. As promised, promptly at 2pm they announce all staterooms were available.

The Sky

We liked the ship alot. There are plentiful quiet areas and active areas. Thee is an extensive choice of bars with a good variety of music. We enjoyed the Longobard the best. The wings, frys and fish&chips which are available from late afternoon until the next morning were good.

Overall, we were satisfied with the food. The breakfast buffet has plentiful choices. There wee numerous omelet stations with no waiting. The lunch and dinner buffets are the weakest More food choices. There just inst much to choose from and several items didnt look very appealing. We found the dining rooms a better choice for dinner. Both times we were seated immediately. The food was good. The service was excellent

We found the staff to be very friendly and positive. They seemed to like what they were doing. They help creative an overall positive attitude on the ship

Ports

We only went to Nassau. We couldnt tender at Stirrup Cay because the seas were too rough. The captain tried but it couldnt be done. On Nassau were visited Atlantis. I strongly recommend that if you plan to visit Paradise island that you use regular taxis rather then the water taxis. The water taxis dont leave until they are overloaded. The wait times can be excessive, particularly during non peak hours. Also, the walk from the ferry landing to Atlantis is quite long. With a taxi you can get drooped right at your destination \. it is only 2 or 3 dollars more. Less
