We had a wonderful 30th anniversary. Our cabin was upgraded and was very nice. We enjoyed the ship and the art tour. The food was very good. We changed our mind and decided we wanted regular seating rather than picking our own time. We liked having the same servers every night that knew what we wanted. We enjoyed the cooking demonstrations. We ate at the Pinnacle Grill one night--well worth the extra money. They treated us like we were royalty. We really enjoyed the Ryndam. We enjoyed walking around the ship, relaxing, anticipating the dinner menu. It was wonderful. One complaint. We ate lunch and dinner (and teas) in the dining room. But, we didn't eat breakfast there--breakfast was too slow. We ate their one morning it took 2 hours. It was not worth the time.
We are not beach people or shopping people. So the ports of call were a little disappointing. We would have liked to go to the ruins, but it is a long ride and rather expensive. We did go on a cave tubing in Belize--we booked it ourselves and it was so much better than the cattle call trip the ship took. The ships tubing group passed us by while we were jumping off rocks and swinging on rope swings. They seemed to be in a hurry, we had plenty of time to look in caves, eat termites, swim, and look at flora and fauna. We went with Major Tom, and he and his guides were wonderful. They made the bus ride fun, stopped to buy their Belize drinks for us to try. It was a wonderful trip. Definitely book with Major Tom, he was the best.
Alaska is next!
Room 640--great view, plenty of room. Air conditioning wasn't great, and water pressure was terrible Saturday and by Sunday morning it was hard to shower.
