Sail Date: Jul 2004

We sailed on the Voyager of the Seas July 16-25. There were 5 of us in our group. My husband and I traveled with his aunt and two cousins. E

embarkation went very smoothly. We arrived at 11:30 although we were originally told that embarkation would not begin until after 2. We were just so excited that we could not wait any longer! We found that there were lots of other people who had the same idea, and we were pleasantly surprised that we were permitted to board the ship early with almost no wait! Once we were on the ship, we were in absolute awe of its size and beauty. My husband and I had a promenade view cabin which we loved. It was perfect for us because we didn't spend a lot of time in our room, so found no real need to pay the extra couple hundred $$ for a balcony.

As you have read on many other reviews, the food was very much below par. We dreaded going to breakfast and lunch at the buffet because the food was always the same and it was always cold. You do have the option of eating in the dining room where the food is much better, but if you want to keep your pool lounges, don't take more that 1/2 hour to eat! Dinner in the dining room was pretty good overall. The service was excellent. Our waiter Yucel, and his assistant Michael were fantastic! The menu could use a little sprucing up...it lacked creativity. We went to Johnny Rockets a few times and LOVED it. The service was fast and the food was good. Don't forget to get one of their famous milkshakes. We also dined at Portifinos ($20/pp charge). This was the best dinner we had the entire cruise. We loved the tiramisu served in a chocolate bowl with a B52 shot on the side.
