Connoisseurs of Caribbean on amazing Queen Mary 2
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: New York (Manhattan)
Embarkation was fairly smooth the port was crowded; it took us 45 minutes to board the ship. We drove from Smithtown NY 53 miles from the Port. We parked in the lot next to the dock for a total of $203. This is a second cruise on QM 2, still impressed by her elegance. We went to our inside cabin on Deck 6 which is very spacious. We went to King's court for a bite to eat. On our return to our cabin, our luggage were promptly delivered by Sweet Serbian Lady Donna, our room Stewardess, she is a doll. The ship promptly sailed at 5 PM from the Dock. The ship was decorated beautifully for the Christmas Holidays. The sail away was unbelievable with the bright lights of Manhattan receding on the back ground. Queen Mary slowly glided on the East river to Hudson River like a black Swan on a Pond. At Six 6 PM we went to Britannia for our evening dinner which was smart casual dress. Our table was #153 and we met our tablemates, Mrs. Kelly Cheddie and her son Keith Cheddie from Manhattan, Mrs. More
Monica Dreslin and her husband Dr. John Dreslin from Mystic CT. The service in the Britannia dining was excellent. Our waiter Alvin and his assistant Jose were friendly and courteous. Being Vegetarian, the head waiter Jamian was kind enough to provide me alternative entre of my choice. Once in a while we ate at the King's Court buffet consists of 4 separate food areas, too confusing, disoriented and crowded. Every day we had different performances, some by Cunard Dancers and other performers from outside. All the shows were of 4 star qualities. Cunard big production show "Viva Italia" was great; "Apassionata" was quite good. The Planetarium had some great shows and we were sorry we only had time for two of them. Also, we were able to listen to the lecture on the Forensic Science which we found very interesting. Many of ports were ship docked were great ports but we had been there before, we didn't do too much sightseeing except in St. Martin and St. Lucia Too many times the photographers disturbed our peace while dining, and visiting ports which is irritating. Furthermore, with such an advance in digital photography available today, passengers should be in a position to view their photographs in their cabin TV monitors rather printing all the photographs and shredding the unwanted prints thus wasting all those papers and inks. To sum up, it really was the best ship we have sailed on; it was so elegant with excellent service throughout and the delight was in the details. We can hardly wait to book another cruise on QM2 Less

Cabin review: D6072
Our cabin was inside on Deck 6. It was spacious for 2 of us with lots of closet space. Our cabin was spotlessly clean and our room attendant was great.
