We were a group of 14, and our family of 4 (two adults, two boys 15 and 11) shared a balcony cabin. This was our first NCL cruise, and based on Cruise Critic comments, I was apprehensive. We had a great week, and I was pleasantly surprised.
There is no question that the NCL model is different from other lines we have sailed, and they execute it well. They are more casual, more aggressive in promoting additional services and less pampering than we have experienced before (and our other cruises are also mainstream lines). As I look back, whether to sail NCL again won't be a matter of product delivery, but whether the product that is delivered is what we are looking for.
That said, here are some rambling observations from our cruise-
9654- Great location. Its aft, but near the elevators to Bliss and the dining room. Easy walk up to the pool, or down to deck 7 where most everything is. 3rd and 4th are along the balcony door, so access is cut off. This side of the ship was in shade most days.
