This was our first Celebrity cruise. We've cruised with NCL numerous times, Disney once, and Holland America once. Celebrity is definitely a cut above from the food to the entertainment to the ship itself. This is a five star review even though there were a couple of areas I was disappointed in, mainly because the areas that I was pleased with were absolutely exceptional!

First, embarkation took longer than I expected - lineups were crazy and overall it was a tedious process. Once we were on the ship and saw our cabin all was forgotten though. We were in Aqua class and had a balcony which was beautiful - it was amazing to keep our door open at night and hear the waves while we slept. Our room attendant was excellent and couldn't do enough for us, in addition to being just a really nice fellow. Our room was always spotlessly clean and done up quickly.

The ship itself is sparkling clean everywhere and nicely laid out. It took us no time at all to find our way around. As for dining, because we were Aqua Class we had access to Blu where we ate dinner 4 times. Being vegan they tried to accomodate me and did a reasonable job, with a separate vegetarian menu each evening. We did get tired of it though and ended up eating in the buffet two evenings. I love Indian food and the buffet had a station dedicated to Indian cuisine every night, which was terrific! We also did the Lawn Club twice, it was our favourite. The flatbreads are amazing and for my main the chef prepared a surprise dish for me - a grilled pepper stuffed with grilled veggies and tofu. It was beyond delicious and I certainly felt catered to. The wait staff at Lawn Club was second to none as well, the best on the ship IMO. We ate in Murano one evening which was fine, not much for vegans though - I ended up with an eggplant stuffed with some sort of tomato mixture (which I've come to know is what chefs who aren't big on cooking for vegans tend to prepare). My husband loved his sole though. On our last night we dined in Tuscan and the service was very slow, but the food made up for it. The bread was the best on the ship and my made to order papardelle was some of the best pasta I've eaten anywhere.

St. Maarten

We did Maho beach the first day and took a water taxi to another beach the 2nd day. Very worthwhile, both of them.
