Ship Facts: MSC Poesia Review (by Cruise Critic!) | MSC Poesia Deck Plans
Sailors Beware
The ship itself is beautiful and very clean. The rooms are average to slightly larger then the norm but with alot of storage which was great for a family of four. The MSC cruise line has great potential but poor at the present time. If you are planning on going on any MSC Cruise you need to remember that this is a European ship and sails that way even being in the USA. If you want a Mediterranean cruise but want to stay local this is a ship for you, otherwise stay with Carnival, NCL, Princess, etc...

MSC is trying to cater to the kids with free sailing but the programs are very poor for them not much else to do. As for food - food was ok this seems to be the same review for everyone. But remember European cruise line. My biggest complaint with the food is first 2 days they had syrup for the pancakes, french toast etc.. but ran out and started to use honey (puke) this seemed to be no problem for them to be norm for them again (puke). To drink they had water & ice tea (free) juice only at breakfast & was very water downed orange juice & pineapple juice at the buffets in the dinning room they were good. This is one area they can improve to match other cruise companies more juices and not just breakfast.

The shows were ok some better then others but alot of room to improve. the entertainment poolside was much better, but needed more things for the kids to do again not much, the pool attendants not much English spoken the pool chief (Vito ) very very rude. Trying to get off the ship was simply a pain in the you know what when using the tenders. It doesn't to take 1 1/2 hours to get off the ship very unorganized. The main MC guy or few of the entertainment people hard to understand them very poor broken English. They would tell every one in English, Italian, French etc.. then Italian then English so on & so on sometimes could tell when they stopped other language and back to English that's how bad it was. Get someone that can speak good English that can speak Italian maybe someone from the states and stop speaking in 5-6 different languages.

The prices for the Excursions seem to be avg to better then avg. with other ships. The wait staff was probably the best thing on the ship they were great and tried their best to please you. As for the drinks prices were good, depending on which bar you went to went from very week to strong drinks. They tell you about the very large TV at the small pool area. then you need to use the TV for shows, movies etc.. instead of cartoon characters of Christmas scenes that lasted 5 sec. then went to something else etc.. I personally won't go one another MSC cruise unless they really look into catering to Americans there is a difference.

Remember if your looking for great entertainment food etc... like Carnival NCL etc.. spending the extra money. But If you want a European cruise without flying to Europe for it this ship line is the way to go you will love it then but again it's not like the avg ship here in the states Hope MSC improves they have alot going for them. Try to cater to the kids more age 8 to 16 more. One more thing the trip was ruffer then most cruise we been on felt like a small boat.
