Short But Sweet
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: New Orleans
Arrived at the port around 12:00 pm. Boarding was beginning as we arrived. The line seemed long but proved to move very quickly. We were on the ship in 30 mins. and went straight to the South Beach Lido restaurant for lunch. We were unable to go to our cabin until 1:30 pm, so we ate lunch and looked over the ship until cabin was available. We had a balcony room that was nice size and clean. The balcony light didn't work, but we like the dark anyway.
The muster drill no longer requires the life-jackets be worn which was a real plus. The only problem was the drill took quite awhile and didn't end until after sail away. We always enjoy watching the ship leave and on this cruise there wasn't anyway to be able to see.
The ship is understated by Carnival's standard in decoration. Less neon and more of an upscale feel.
While our cabin was always clean, we never saw our room Steward. Our dinner was the late seating in the London Dining room. Our wait staff was More outstanding. The best we've had on any previous cruise.
The food and entertaining was above average. The show The Big Easy was fantastic.
Our only port was Cozumel. We rented a car and drove around the island on our own. Had a great time visiting some of the areas away from the docks.
Disembarking was slow as the self assist and the regular passengers were called to leave the ship at the same time. There was long lines and it took awhile. There were a couple of people being removed in handcuffs. That might had been part of the slow down.
Overall, we enjoyed this ship very much and have already booked this ship for another cruise in 2010. Less
