My Wife and I sailed on the Ruby Princess in November 2009. This was our first time cruising. I thought that the embarkation process would have been more difficult, but was pleasantly surprised by the ease of embarkation. We quickly made our way to the ship, with a brief stop for our first Princess photo op,(turns out that my eyes were closed). Anyways, once onboard my first impression was WOW. We passed by the lower level of the Piazza area and found our way to our cabin on the Baja deck. The walk to our cabin was short or perhaps it seemed that way because I was so busy looking at everything around us. Our room was a starboard Balcony room. We didn't stay long in our room as we wanted to start experiencing the ship. We quickly found our way up on deck after a quick bite to eat in the Horizon Court. The view from the deck was great. We were quite impressed with the level of service on board. Our stateroom attendant was always very helpful in fulfilling requests.

The food in all of the restaurants was generally very good. We would have liked to see a bit more vegetables in some restaurants, but that is just a personal preference. Morning breakfast in the stateroom was OK, the fruits could definitely had been fresher, but the experience of eating on the balcony while the ship is sailing was very enjoyable.

We splurged on night for dinner and tried Sabbatinis. The food was great. We had in total about 17 courses over about 2 1/2 hours. Deserts were great. Of the 7 seven deserts offered at Sabbatinis, we liked 4 of them the most. Yes, we ordered all 7 deserts much to the surprise of the people seated next to us. Lobster was excellent, especially the baby lobster entree called Langostine.
