Last November we (my parents and I) went on the Carnival Conquest out of Galveston, so this year we decided to try Voyager of the Seas.

The night before we spent the night at the Harbor House at Pier 21, which is owned by the same people as the Tremont House and Hotel Galvez. It was great because we were able to see Voyager of the Seas come into port in the morning and it was literally right out our window. The location was nice because you could walk to the terminal and we could park there for $20 while we were on our cruise. The only down side, was that our room was right above the restaurant and it was very noisy.

Day 1: Arrived at the Terminal around noon, got all checked in and they began boarding about 12:45, we were one of the first onboard and it was a smooth boarding process. The brochure says boarding begins at 2:00 but arrive earlier to avoid the chaos, (noon is nice). The ship is gorgeous, and again, this is our first cruise with Royal Caribbean. I had done my research and knew to ignore the crew when they said to go to Windjammer, we went to Cafe Promenade, and got sandwiches, we were the only ones there and it was nice, (if you want a wide selection and hot food, then do go to Windjammer). We were able to go to our staterooms around 2:00, this being my 4th cruise I knew they were small, but I didn't expect them to be as small as they were, on Carnival I could sleep on the couch, on RC I had to sleep above my parents because there was no room on the floor. The bathroom was nicer than Carnival's though and I liked having a shower door instead of a curtain.
