We (three adults and my sixteen year-old son), very experienced cruisers, enjoyed a wonderful Christmas vacation 2009 on the Voyager of the Seas. We live in Houston and often choose to cruise out of Galveston simply to avoid the hassles of air travel - therefore our cruise ship options are limited to 2 Carnival ships (they're both gross) and 1 RC. Once again, RC proved that they "get it" by providing unbeatable customer service on a clean, well-appointed ship.
Room Stewards, dining room waitstaff, bartenders, customer service desk employees, evening entertainment, teen activities - all outstanding. One note: is there ANY way to make cruise ship casinos 100% non-smoking?
Ports of Call: Cozumel - Book the Barracuda Beach ATV excursion (be sure to take an extra pair of dry socks and shoes with you). My son REALLY enjoyed this excursion; it was very well managed and great fun.
Grand Cayman - Avoid the Wreck and Reef Snorkel excursion. Began 30 minutes late, spent a grand total of 40 minutes in the water after over 2 hours loading and unloading people and riding on buses. RC gave us a partial refund on the excursion after we expressed our displeasure via a comment card.
Jamaica - Shopped a bit and enjoyed drinks and lunch at Margaritaville on a beautiful clear Caribbean afternoon. Next time we'll book parasailing.
Voyager is not the newest ship on the seas but it provides great value and superior customer service which make for a memorable vacation. We highly recommend it!
