My husband Randy and I were excited to go on a cruise to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We both are retired so we don't travel very often. I booked the cruise two months before and explained the purpose of the cruise and I wanted a stateroom in a good location. We were assigned room 409, it seemed fine the first night. We were awoke at 6:00 am by a very loud banging noise and thought the ship had crashed, I then found that it was a worker moving items from one place to another. Our room was by a loading dock and work area. I went to customer service and explained what had happened and was told "sorry". We were awoke almost every morning at 6:00 am. On Tuesday by the pool I broke my toe on the right foot, this was my fault but it really hurt. I taped my toes together. On Wednesday walking to get in the pool, I stepped on something sharp that penetrated my big toe on the left foot, I had to walk trying to hold my toe up. It was very painful! After looking at it I had stepped on a piece of glass. After checking with customer service we went down to Medical to see the Doctor and have it removed. When I was able to finally see the Doctor he looked at it and then told me to put my shoes back on and have a seat. He then proceeded to tell me his history, he was a General Surgeon for 10 years, then worked in the ER for 8 years now he is doing this. I could care less, I wanted the glass removed. The wonderful Doctor then told me he would not be able to help me because he did not have the proper equipment. I guess they don't have tweezers. I can't explain how angry I was, this was very painful! The next morning I removed the glass myself, apparently the so called Doctor didn't want to. Friday our final night we met with two other couples and had dinner. We were laughing and having fun when the waiter came over and told us to be quiet. I guess you are not allowed to laugh in their restaurants. We then returned to our room to find the Steward had not cleaned it, a note was placed on our door saying it was double locked. You must be in the room to double lock it, we had no problem entering our room. I wrote a letter and explained everything that happened. I received a letter back expressing concern with a $200.00 credit for me and one for my husband to be used on another cruise. WOW!!! Needless to say we are not impressed, we will never cruise on a Norwegian again!!! Had they refunded some of our expenses we would have felt differently. This was a milestone for us, we probably won't be alive to celebrate our 50Th anniversary.
