Having been on 3 cruises prior to this one, we were a little sceptical sailing on a smaller ship. Here are our thoughts on this cruise:

Embarkation We arrived at the Port at approx 10:45am and made it through security etc in a matter of minutes. Because we arrived early, we were seated in a waiting area for approx 45mins & were entertained by a lady (Ada?) from Carnival while we waited and she was very friendly and funny. Upon embarkation we went straight to lunch and had a nice buffet meal while we waited for our room to be ready. We went to our deck at 1:15pm and our room was not ready until 1:30pm. They did not open the hallway doors to the cabins a moment sooner and it was very crowded.

Meals We opted for the dine as you please (ie no set timings for supper) and NEVER had to wait for a table. The food was always excellent and the servers efficient and friendly. For breakfast/lunch we usually ate at the dining room to avoid the huge crowds on the lido deck. We notice Carnival does not skimp on the small things, such as nice size shrimp when you order shrimp cocktails, FRESH orange juice and unlimited Lemonade/Ice tea at all times during the day. This was really appreciated. There are no specialty restaurants on board (ie at an extra cost) as most ships today, but were not really into those anyways.
