Sail Date: Dec 2009

Aussie lady who cruised solo departing San Diego on a rainy day in December 09. I deliberately delayed boarding until after 2.00pm to prevent waiting out side in the rain. I had completed pre-boarding online; actual check in was quick and I was on the ship at 2.15 at which point the nightmare began.

Despite cabins being 'open' ie ready for access by passengers, on finding my cabin on Upper Deck it was indeed open - the door was wide open. Anybody could have come in, taken the pool towels (I would have been charged)or done anything. To make it worse, there was a pile of used sheets in the bottom of the wardrobe and the floor was filthy - bits of paper, used chocolate wrappers on the floor. I called housekeeping and over the phone they were disbelieving- "are you sure Maam?". Um, yes, I am pretty sure that I am standing over a pile of stinking used sheets from the previous cabin occupants and I am pretty sure that rubbish on the floor at my feet is not a figment of my imagination. Housekeeping staff eventually appeared, removed the used laundry and vacuumed the room.

Food in the Buffet was limited and boarding school style very low quality compared to Norwegian Cruise Lines and Royal Caribbean which I have cruised in the past 3 months.

Cabin Review

Cheap particle board furnishings, dark and dingy corridors.
