Sail Date: Dec 2009

This was our sixth cruise and third on Celebrity. We have previously sailed on Carnival, Princess and Holland American. We favor Celebrity over all the others.

Equinox uses the new terminal built for the Oasis of the Seas. The facility is expansive with plenty of check-in stations. We arrived around 10:30am and were one of the first groups scheduled to board. The previous cruise had not yet disembarked and the Celebrity reps kept announcing the holdup was due to US Customs still in the process of clearing the ship. Boarding started sometime around 12:30pm and it was TOTAL CHAOS!. Instead of boarding in the order you were checked-in and seated in the waiting area people who came in later in the process just got up and went to the front. Celebrity had plenty of reps working but the didn't do anything to insure an orderly and safe boarding. All the announcer did was keep saying to remain seated. It was a horrible way to start off a vacation.

With the late boarding we were able to get to our room as soon as we got on the ship. Our cabin was a Concierge Class room on Deck 9. It was a little smaller than I expected compared to other similar class rooms on other ships but it was well designed and had better storage than we have seen in the past. The veranda was large enough for 2 lounge type chairs and a table. We were comfortable but I think we will opt for a suite the next time we sail.
