MY wife, myself and adult daughter sailed on the December 12, 2009 sailing of the Summit from San Juan to five Southern Caribbean ports returning to San Juan. We are in our early sixties and have enjoyed six prior cruises - three on Princess, two on HAL and one on Celebrity. Our daughter has cruised on three other occasions. We booked two concierge class cabins on deck nine. Ours was just aft of the mid-ship elevators and our daughter's was just forward of the elevators. The night prior to embarkation we stayed of the Sheraton in Old San Juan, which was undergoing remodeling, but still proved to be adequate for our needs. For those of you curious about costs the hotel rooms were $189 each including all taxes. The taxi ride from the airport is $19.00 plus $1.00 per bag.
EMBARKATION:
We were not scheduled to sail until 8:30PM, but had to check out of our hotel by 11:30AM. We had toured San Juan before so we decided to take a chance and took a taxi to the cruise terminal. We were among the first to arrive and after a short wait we were inside and seated. Within a short time we were processed and on the ship by 1:00PM. My compliments to Celebrity for a very smooth and efficient process.
