Sail Date: Aug 2004

Without being too detailed, my family sailed from Cape Liberty on August 8, 2004 with expectations of at least decent service for our first time on RCCL. To put it bluntly, this would be our last time on this cruise line. Although embarkation was excellent, it was all downhill from herein.

I felt the cabins were not clean -- don't look behind the couch; balcony area was dirty; windows dirty; bathroom had cigarette burns on sink and toilet seat had lines on it that I had to have my husband check out before I would use it. Hallways were smokey and we followed a ball of string for three days before it was vacuumed.

We were five people, ages 46, 40, 51, 54 and 75 -- it was my mother's 75th -- and our first night at dinner was total chaos. After our safety drill, we arrived at the dining room, only to find that we had different tables. The maitre d' was totally overwhelmed, people were yelling and finally we sat down at a table, which was not our table because that one was occupied. The next night our table was also occupied, so standing out in a hallway outside the Magic Flute, we finally were seated with another lovely family, albeit we would have liked our own table, and I'm sure they would have, too. We decided to stay there for the remainder.
