We just got back from the Triumph, which we took out of New Orleans to the Bahamas. Most of it was good. Food, service, ship. All very nice. Booked a room in the back just below 9th deck. Wouldn't do that again as it was noisy and you could hear everyone moving chairs around on the Lido deck. Also got vibration when the ship pulls in or out of port. You'd be better off in the middle of the ship in a nice balcony room. Two Excursion warnings: 1. Key West Pub crawl. This was a total rip off. They advertise that your guide will tell you stories and play games as you make your way through the town from pub to pub. We thought that would be fun to have someone tell us a little about the town and maybe have a laugh as we walked around. It included a free drink in each pub and cost $100 for the two of us. The reality is that we got this drunken guide who didn't seem to care if we were following him or not. He was slurring his words at 10:30am and just walked ahead of us from one pub to the next. Never told any interesting stories, or played any games or anything. To make it worse, we found out that the free drink only included the cheapest beer in the bar and "well drinks" IF you could get the bartender's attention. Was a total disappointment and rip off. Don't fall for it! Shame on Carnival for this one. 2. Freeport- Didn't do an excursion here, but should have. We just wanted to walk around the town. They crammed us into an old clunky van with 9 other people and no air conditioning for the 20 minute ride to the main town. the only thing in the tourist part of town is a casino, a beach and some crappy cheap tourist shops. Unless you take some kind of snorkeling, diving, or some other fun excursion...save yourself the aggravation and don't bother getting off the ship in Freeport! Everything else about the cruise was good. Food was good, service was good, ship was clean, room was nice. Entertainment is what you'd expect on this class of ship. Had some good musicians in the various clubs. All in all, well worth the money.
