Solstice is a beautiful ship with many great facilities.
Eating in the cafeteria on deck 14 gave good choices and quality of food, but dining in the main restaurant was a disappointment. Despite many complaints the food was serves half-cold every night.
Entertainment fell far short of the level we have enjoyed on previous Celebrity cruises. Apart from the Lindsay Hamilton and 'Solstice' shows, which were excellent,it was scarcely worth walking to the theatre.
We experienced chaos in both of the shore excursions we booked. The first departed two hours late, the second one hour late. We got no apologies for either of these late departures.
For the first time we felt a real benefit from being 'elite' members of the captains club, with cocktails and good tours of the ship.
We received not one 'thank you' for the gratuities that were automatically put onto our account. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, but clearly the 'gratuities' have become part of their regular income.
