Our experience on the Norwegian Dawn for the back-to-back cruises beginning November 15, 2009; Ports: Miami Grand Cayman Cozumel Miami Samana Tortola Antigua Barbados St. Kitts Miami

The ship is getting old and showing signs of wear and sadly, lack of maintenance; Things like worn carpets and paint peeling off surfaces. Our cabin attendants were really efficient. In the cabin when we were out, and out when we were in, they did a magnificent job.

Other crew however, were not as attentive. Little things add up. For instance, I wanted a cookie one night. I went to the "Garden Cafe " and asked for a cookie. The attendant told me they had none and I should try the "Blue Lagoon". So I went to the Blue Lagoon, and asked there and was told they had none either and I should order from room service. The point is someone should have gone behind the doors and GOT me a cookie, not make me jump through hoops I mentioned this to our"Latitudes" Ports & Cruise Consultant and she expressed concern, telling me that it's good that I brought it to her attention she sent an e-mail to all concerned and the next day there was a tray of cookies in our cabin. It's more than that unfortunately. We were on a back-to-back cruise originating in Miami and stopping, on the first leg at Grand Cayman and Cozumel. When that part of the trip was done, we returned to Miami to begin the second leg of the cruise. We were required to get off the ship and come back aboard in Miami. I didn't have an "Issue" with that; I understand U.S. Customs and "Sysdumb". What happened after we reboarded really aggravated me. I went to the pool and asked for a towel, the "Pool Boy" said the towel facility was closed and I'd have to use the towel in my cabin. Having reboarded we had no access to our cabin, so I asked to see his supervisor to resolve the situation. The Pool boy told me the supervisor was "Right over there" (I had to get the supervisor, the pool boy in my opinion should have gotten the supervisor to come to us). The supervisor told me the same story. I asked to see his boss at which point he told the pool boy to open the towel facility and give me a towel. The pool boy had the key the whole time and the entire situation could have been avoided!
