Was planning on taking a cab to the ship from the airport but while I was waiting for my luggage I saw a RCCL employee giving out info about taking their shuttle. Since I was cruising solo, I figured it would cost me less to take the shuttle and I had plenty of time, so I went to the desk to get a tranfer voucher. This did take a lot more time than it would have to hail a cab, but I saved a few bucks. Don't know if the shuttle driver always gives you the "scenic tour" of Miami, but I was annoyed that instead of driving straight to the port, he decided to drive us around and show us a shopping mall. Who cares? I wanted to get on the boat!

Got to the ship around 1pm, so I was able to go straight to my room to drop off my stuff. The room was tiny, but nice. I had an inside cabin, which was perfect for me because I wanted to be able to sleep late, didn't need the sun streaming in at the crack of dawn! The bathroom could have been cleaner, and it did smell funny (after just reading another review, I'm thinking it could have been the mildew on the shower curtain). My safe was broken, and despite my complaining about it twice, maintenance never came to fix it the whole trip.

First stop was the Windjammer for lunch. Tried the honey stung chicken that everyone raves about, thought it was ok, nothing fabulous. The WJ food was pretty good, nothing to write home about, but eatible. My two complaints about the Windjammer: 1) the silverware was dirty. Next time I'm bringing a supply of plastic forks and knives with me. 2) I had to wait for a waiter to bring me a soda (I paid for the soda package). My first trip to the Windjammer was the worst in that respect, because by the time I found the waiter, asked him to bring me a soda (which he FORGOT to do for 20 minutes) I was practically done eating. I never ate lunch in the WJ again, but if I had, I would have stopped at the pool bar first to get a soda, would have been much easier.
