From the time we arrived at the Sydney Overseas Passenger terminal we knew that this cruise was going to be fantastic. Boarding was simple and painless and after leaving Melbourne at 10.15am we were already eating at the windjammer by 12.45pm.(Yummy!!) At 1pm we found our cabins (spotless), dropped off our hand luggage and went for a jet boat ride on Sydney harbour, which was truly welcome, especially the drenching we received as it was a very warm Sydney day. By the time we returned our luggage had been delivered and we all attended muster drill. This took a little longer than it had last year as it was announced in 3 different languages. Dinner in the MDR at 6.00pm and again everything is just wonderful. Food, service and the fellow tablemates. Reagan was our fantastic waiter and Radu our very nervous, yet so cute and courteous, assistant waiter. He had only just commenced his contract with RCL and thank goodness he did not have some of the complaining ( about nothing)passengers we overheard in the MDR on occasions as he would have lost any confidence that he was gaining each night. We all wanted to take Reagen and Radu home with us. Jinky was our cabin steward, again the service was truly impeccable and nothing was too much trouble for her. Entertainment was again brilliant and something for everyone. We had a fantastic day at Airlie beach, snorkeling on the reef. Cairns, another perfect day, and we travelled up the mountain by skyrail to Kuranda and back by train. Port Douglas was beautiful and we walked up to the lookout there and took some wonderful photos, then sat on the beach there and relaxed ad well as looking at the local shops. We did not leave the boat in Brisbane as we had been there only a few years ago and it was 45 minutes on the shuttle to get there. Instead we stayed on the ship and enjoyed the pools and restaurants which we had almost to ourselves. Back to Sydney. We stayed on board till 9am then collected our cases and breezed through customs. Our sons climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge, then off to the airport for our flight home. It was a wonderful, relaxing, stress free, fattening holiday. For those who have advised about vibrations, we did notice it a tiny tiny little bit the first night, then nothing. The other couple at our dinner table had also noticed it and said that you would normally have to pay extra for a vibrating bed! Overall, another wonderful cruise aboard the Rhapsody with nothing but high praise for everyone and everything aboard this beautiful ship.
