I am going to write this review, the best I can, and hope to provide the most accurate information and also give insight to other people. I travelled on the Pearl with my boyfriend; we are both under our 30's, and my parents who are in their 60's. We have travelled on other cruises prior, for me and my boyfriend; it has been Carnival Cruise Line only so that is all I have to compare this cruise to.

Embarkation: After having a little issue with my car, we finally made it to the port around 12:00pm, and I was stressed to the MAX and was prepared for a long wait. The embarkation process actually wasn't bad at all. It didn't take long and although we were able to go into the VIP line, I waited in line with my mom and dad so we could all board together. Once we got to the check-in counter, they staff were very helpful and they allowed my parents to board with use as VIP guest. I must say, that was very nice of them and the staff never questioned my parents boarding with us. Our room was already ready when we boarded, which was about 1pm and that was nice!

Rooms: I booked a Penthouse Suite, AE category, and my mother and father had an interior room on deck 4. We normally wouldn't have spent that much money but we exchanged our timeshare for the room and just couldn't resist. I am sure glad we did!! We were personally escorted to our room by a staff member whom was either new or just lost but didn't know where our room was and we walked in circles for a long time. The staff member wasn't very friendly, but once we got into our room, it was beautiful. We were on floor 8, and had a beautiful view. We had a bottle of campaign and lovely flowers and a fruit bowl. I loved the bathtub and the bed, OMG, it was wonderful!! The balcony was a nice size and we sat out there everyday!! The cordless phone in the suite room was nice as we could use it throughout the ship. Our room stewardess, Elizabeth was very friendly and always accommodating. My parent's interior room was nice, small but very nice. She complained of having to ask her room stewardess for ice repeatedly and never got it so she would come up to our room to get ice. Having a penthouse suite gave us access to a butler and concierge service. I will be honest, I never saw my butler but he gave us nice treats each day and introduced himself. I didn't ever use the concierge either but he did allow my parents to eat with us in Cagney's for breakfast and lunch, which was nice and he was friendly.
