My wife and I just returned from our 10th cruise together and 8th to the Caribbean. Unlike many who worry about cabin amenities and location we choose to save money by taking an inside cabin. We are out of the room most of the time and enjoy meeting others so coffee or relaxing on our private balcony are not important to us. Although small in size there was plenty of storage space and room for the suitcases under the bed and in the closet. We were on Riviera deck near the front of the ship and the room was very quiet.
We arrived in San Juan late Saturday night after a long day traveling from the west coast. After checking in to the very reasonably priced and very nice Le Consulat Hotel in the Condado area we walked around and enjoyed the many Halloween costumes on display.
We also experienced the delay in boarding the ship in San Juan. As I understand it there was a major crew change due to the repositioning from the northeast and this caused the delay in starting embarkation. We had already decided that we would rather enjoy a day on the beach in San Juan rather than rush to check in so after an enjoyable day and some last minute shopping we returned to the hotel where we had checked our bags for the day and headed to the ship at about 3:00pm. We were surprised to see the lineup as we expected a quick check in but we were delayed about 90 minutes. The time went fast as we enjoyed talking to the other passengers in line with us. Once we reached an agent we were quickly checked in and by avoiding the ships photographers ( do we really want a picture of ourselves after waiting in line for nearly 2 hours?) we were in our room within minutes.
R216 - excellent value for an inside cabin. Lots of storage space. No noise from above or below. Quiet hallway.
