Pre cruise stayed 2 days at the Rennassaince Riverwalk Hotel. Booked 1 stayed 2 due ti Ida. Got the same rate both days. We did the park and ride pkg nice room good price. Excellent would stay there again.Highly recommended. First problem Hurricane Ida. Mobile port closed so one day delay on leaving. Not Carnivals fault. Progresso taken off due to one day less on cruise. Costa Maya changed to Calica due to damage to the pier from Hurricane Ida? Third problem delayed coming into port of Mobile due to fog(off the ship at 1130). Couldn't get on the ship then couldn't get off. Port is very small and very congested. On the ship in 45 min after arrival. My husband and Grandson, age 28 months and I traveled and stayed in OV room(window very dirty). Ship was clean Cabin steward wonderful. Food ok but not as good as the Legend or Valor. Servers in dining room were ok but we felt rushed. Waterworks was ok but we were told age was 2 and above. But our 35 pound 28 mo old was not allowed to go down the small slide even with my husband. That left 3 water sprinkles for him and the hot tub. Pool water was too cold to get into. Entertainment was good.Cruise director got on my nerves constantly said "Goodbye----I said Goodbye" but was otherwise ok. Calica nothing at the port. Must take a excursion or spend $26.00 on Taxi for roundtrip to Playa del Carmen. Nice town with good shopping and a nice beach. Some good restaurants.Had a good day at the beach.Of the 5 cruises I went on I would say it came in number 4. with the Legend 1st, Valor 2nd, Conquest 3rd, Fantasy 4th and Freedom Last.
