This was our first cruise on Norwegian. We have been on other cruises with Celebrity, Princess, and Carnival.
Embarkation: There were no significant problems with embarkation. It was just a bit disorganized in the terminal. That could have been because the ship got in late that morning due to fog. After checking in we were told to sit down and wait fro our number to be called to go on board. We sat and waited and having not heard our number for any numbers called for awhile, checked on the numbers of the group currently boarding. Our number was in that group so we were herded on board with about 100 other people all squeezing through the door of the terminal in a mad rush. The could have avoided this cattle call with a better system fro calling numbers. We never did hear any numbers called. Once on board we ate lunch and got to our stateroom by 1:30. Not bad.
Cabin: We had a mini suite. It is basically a balcony cabin that is a bit larger than a standard balcony. We had a guarantee in this category and ended up fairly close to mid ship which we wanted. The room itself was nice. A bit larger than the standard balcony cabin. Out stewards did not come by until the next day and never formally introduced themselves. However, anything we wanted was provided. They were efficient and the cabin was always made up or turned down promptly. The mattress on the bed was very firm. If you like that, great but I prefer a bit softer so I ended up with a stiff back most mornings. Although the room is advertised as a mini suite, there are no suite privileges extended to that class of room.
