I readily admit that this was our first cruise and so, even though I've lived aboard several yachts, I do not have other cruises/cruise lines to compare. I also admit that, having learned very early in my life to appreciate what I have, it takes some effort to find fault or complain. Life is WAY too short to waste my time on finding what's wrong; I prefer to see the "glass half full" and spend my time seeking what is right. I travel to GIVE as well as GET and consider myself an "ambassador" of sorts. Human nature being what it is, I know people will judge a country by each person they encounter from that country. When traveling, my husband and I try to immerse ourselves in local culture, food, people, and environment. Given this background, here is my review:

ARRIVAL: After landing in San Juan, we emerged outside to get a taxi. Expecting to be bombarded by taxi drivers, we were pleasantly greeted by a young lady who directed us to the taxi stand. We gave them our destination, they filled out a quick form which gave us the amount ($26), and asked us to wait in a short line. In less than 5 minutes, our form was handed to a taxi driver and we on our way. We couldn't believe how efficient and friendly this service was- a far cry from other destinations we've visited.

We spent one night at the El Convento. After learning about this lovely hotel on TripAdvisor, we just couldn't pass it up. The hotel staff was very accommodating and directed us to the inside courtyard where we had lunch while we waited for our room to be ready.
