My boyfriend & I have been on 2 cruises within the last 2 years, this being our 3rd. We had always been with Carnival, trying Royal Caribbean for the first time. I had been on the Majesty of the Seas about 10 years prior with my family & it was fantastic. I was going off of this memory to try the Majesty of the Seas again. It was nothing the way I remember; it is in need of a serious facelift. Not only was it very bland, we were missing out on all of the 24 hour food deals the way Carnival is set up--not to mention all of the incredibly nice staff on Carnival that were all absent on the Majesty.

We had booked this cruise a week in advance due to our original vacation to Miami falling through. Regardless of our own mistakes of not doing homework prior to this cruise, our assistance via waitstaff (& all staff in general!!!) were all REALLY rude to us. We are used to having the gratuity given after the cruise on Carnival--this cruise had it already added in to everything we did, so no one was nice to us. For example: I ordered a drink with one of the waitstaff; it took over 10 minutes for my drink order to actually arrive. I had ordered a Mimosa, but they brought me a Screwdriver instead, approximately 5 ounces. When it finally arrived, it cost me $8!

Another example: We figured out that our room steward took some candy from our minibar! We went up to the help desk to inquire about it. They told us to track down our own steward & ask him. (WOW, how unhelpful can you be?!) So we FINALLY track him down--he has the cart in front of him with our box of candy sitting there, empty. We told him the situation & he claimed the crew sometimes takes from the minibar & can "FORGET to put a new one there", but stated he wouldn't charge us. Wow, really? Had we not caught that, we would have ended up paying $5 extra for something we didn't use.

Cabin Review

Cabin Oce

Pretty tiny room for an Oceanview stateroom. The shower was a good size. The toilet was horrible--it would take 2 to 3 flushes to clear the toilet just for liquid. Solids took a good 4 to 5 times. (Sorry to be gross!) TV was pretty awesome. Recent movies ran a lot & TNT was perfect. Room service was better than the food in the dining room. Room was well-lit. Air conditioning was good. Closet was small. Safe was good.
