As an introduction, our first cruise was on the Celebrity Summit in 2002 (pre-RCI merger). It was the best cruise we have taken - superior to every other line in terms of food and service. Since then, we have sailed about twice per year with RCI and Princess. We were always satisfied, but still wanted to someday cruise again on Celebrity. We own RCI/Celebrity stock. I had often recommended the line and was very excited when we booked this 11 night (9 ports!!) cruise.

It is with great disappointment that I write this review. I expected my review to be glowing with praise and it is not. While I know some will disagree with me, I can assure you that I met MANY cruisers on this cruise who agreed (at least in large part) that Celebrity is declining quickly and that cutbacks are evident. It is a shame that this great cruiseline is not what it used to be. I think you would see more poor reviews, but frankly some folks on CC are very rude to those who post unflattering reviews.

First, the good parts. Embarkation in San Juan was a breeze. (However be warned that cab fare in San Juan is pricier than in NYC!!!) We stayed at the Marriott Casino Resort for two night pre-cruise. Very nice. Lovely pool area.
