My husband and I booked this cruise for our 2 year anniversary! I was excited...he was skeptical! We decided to invite another married couple that we are great friends with to go along with us, figuring it would be more fun the more people we knew...we were right! We arrived @ port to begin embarkation around 11:00. We were 1st in line, so this was a breeze! We boarded the ship right around 11:45-12:00 and were welcomed with a glass of champagne or orange juice. We walked through the ship and straight to the elevators. Since it was lunch time we grabbed a table and went to the buffet to get lunch. The food was pretty good, not out of this world delicious...but still good. The deserts were sad! We grabbed one of each and we all tasted them...Yuck is all we could say! Fortunately we found the ice cream! After that we walked around the ship to get familiar with everything. We were then allowed to go to our rooms. My husband and I had read a lot of reviews and all of them said how small the rooms were, and boy were they right! They were very small, but, all you do in your room is sleep, so we were OK with that! (I definitely recommend gettin a room with a window!) The Life vest drill was HOT! We had to wait on a ton of drunk people to show up, which was a pain...but we finally finished that and decided to head up to the top deck to watch as we left Miami! This was very nice! We had a table on the back of the boat with our friends, and we really enjoyed watching the sunset on Miami! That night we ate burgers that they grilled on the pool deck. Mine was good, my husbands was over done, and our friend Chris' was raw...so...you can decide whether or not to participate in that lil dinner! Talking about the pool deck, i was very disappointed in the two small pools. We never got in them b/c they were so small!! After we ate we decided to go to Karaoke at the Outrigger lounge! There were not many people there at all, but we had a great time! My husband and I love all things country, and luckily that is what everyone sang! After Karaoke we went the hot tub at the front of the ship on deck 12! You've got to go there! We were the only 4 people up there! This was probably one of my favorite parts of the trip! It was perfect! After the long day we decided to turn in! The next day we were at port in freeport. We did a lil shopping and then returned to the ship and ate lunch at the outdoor buffet. We purchased the anniversary package, so we got cleaned up and went to the Champagne and Cake party. We had a good time and met some very nice couples! We then put on our fancy clothes and had dinner @ Le Bistro! YUM! The service was excellent and the food was delicious! I ordered mushroom soup for an appetizer, Salmon for my entree, and a chocolate cake for desert! They even sang to us! It was so sweet. We were there at the perfect time because we were able to watch the sunset on the water as we ate our dinner! We then went and watched Rich Papura! He was a hoot! Too funny! My favorite part was the newlywed game! Everybody laughed til they cried!! 100A! haha! Matt Baker the cruise director was excellent! That ended that night for us! Wednesday we were in Nassau! We went on the Seahorse and Sail Snorkel excursion. I was disappointed in this. We were snorkeling in extremely choppy water and being our first time snorkeling i was a lil overwhelmed! The boat ride was wonderful...I just wish we would've been in a lil less choppy water! After that we hit up the straw market and my wonderful hubby bought me some really nice bags! Yay! We then walked around and finally headed back to the ship! That night we ate dinner at The Crossing. It was pretty good. Not as good as Le Bistro...but it was still nice. After dinner we unfortunately decided to go to the Broadway show. I've been performing on stage with a theatre company for 13+ years, so I have seen many talented singers, so i was a lil disappointed. On a scale of 1-10 i would say this show was a 5 some songs maybe a 6. Thursday was my FAVORITE day! We were at the Great Stirrup Cay! I rented one of the 12.99 floats and it was well worth it! I stayed in the water on that float for over 4 hours! The water was gorgeous and the weather was perfect! I've been dreamin about that day ever since we got home That night we ate dinner @ The Palace. Same food as The Crossing. Service was very poor that night, but the food was still good. After dinner we went to the Outrigger lounge for the "Adult" game! It was the most fun I had on the whole cruise! We laughed so hard! You have to go there on the last night! All in all we had a wonderful 1st cruise! I'm not so sure cruising is our favorite way to travel...but it was definitely a nice experience! Norwegian sky is an older ship, and it does not have a lot for children or young adults...I would say that this cruise is for the 50+ crowd. Hope this was helpful! Happy Cruising ya'll!!
