This was our 3rd cruise on Holland American and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Embarkation and Disembarkation went smoothly.
Dining-The food was comparable for all Holland cruises. The cold cream soups are amazing. Most of the entrees were very good. The deserts were sometimes good and sometimes not. We ate at the Pinnacle twice. The food was very rich but excellent. For us it was worth the $20. We ate at the Tamarind twice. Again it was worth the extra $15. However, the Sea Bass did not taste outstanding. The rest of the seafood was excellent.
Cabin-The main reason for writing this review is because of our cabin. We chose to go with a bottom of the line suite. We felt it was not worth the extra $800. The suite was large and comfortable. The bathroom was bigger than ours at home. However, we did not receive any extra service for our cabin. Our cabin steward gave poor service by any standard. From now on we will go with Holland but select a Veranda.
Service-The service on this ship(except for our cabin steward) was the best ever. We had 'As you wish dining' and the staff was as friendly as if they saw us every evening.
