EMBARKATION: Cape Liberty-A little unorganized but once shuttle and loading began,things began to smoothen out.Was greeted with a glass of Champaigne but was not escorted anywhere but instructed to proceed to the Buffet..
Inside cabin was roomy and very clean.We met our cabin steward but hardly saw him the whole 13 days.He kept our room clean and tidy and we had no wants for anything as he resupplied articles as needed..
The Buffet was a little disappointing as there were several items served almost daily and the choices were minimal.Waffle and Omlette stations were Great.Staff did not assist many of the passengers who needed assist with trays and only 1 time was I offered a refill on my morning coffee in the 13 days..This was a BIG change from 2 yrs. previous.A big PLUS was the ICE CREAM bar with candy..Outdoor grill was very good and always seemed to be busy.Pizza station needs to offer better selection.There are meats other than Pepperoni.Sushi bar was good.
The Dining Room food was fair at best (entree usually served warm at best)and most steak cuts were poor and some were actually Pot Roast.Heard several complaints about the Lobster,mine was OK..The waiter and assistant waiter were good and took care of most our needs.This is an area that needs to be improved upon..
Entertainment: This was probably the worse entertainment of any cruise we have been on,many being the same production shows we saw 2 yrs ago.Fair comedian.The movies very dated and not recent movies like the competition shows.The String Quartet and The Celebrity Band were both EXCELLENT.
The Captains Party for returning cruisers was the BEST we have attended.4-5 types of food bars were set up and served several returning cruisers.
Ports of call were excellent choices with the overnight in Quebec City being simply FANTASTIC.
The ship overall is showing some signs of wear and we noticed SEVERAL weak spots in the floor and actually saw a gentleman fall due to these soft spots in the hallways.
Staff was attentive but seemed reserved compared to our previous sailing.May have to do with the TIP prices being raised and NO LONGER able to auto adjust tips $$ down for poorer services rendered.You can still auto adjust $$ UP,just not lower the tips.We still enjoyed the staff and most worked very hard..
DISEMBARK: A mess..Hardly any Celebrity personel present to keep walkways and doorways unblocked or to assist with disabled. (Yes,there are ALWAYS those select few who cannot follow protocal and screws everything up by blocking the traffic walkways).We hired a car in advance to pick us up and we were at the airport in no time waiting to fly home.
I am sure we will sail with Celebrity again in the future but they are slowly falling behind their competitors in SEVERAL areas.They need to take lessons from RCCL,which seem to have their Line in order..
