We cruised 7/25/04 and made the first mistake by allowing Princess to make all airline reservations for us. To San Juan, we did fine other than we flew from New Orleans to Charlotte before finally making it to San Juan! However, once we arrived it was so chaotic and unorganized waiting for transfers from the airport to the ship. Then we make it to the ship, and have to wait, then stand in long lines to even get on the ship. We didn't get on the ship until after 6 p.m. and we had first seating dining.
Then our luggage didn't arrive until around 9 p.m. I do have to give them credit where it is due though. The food was probably better than we ever had on Royal Caribbean and we took our 17 year old who had a blast in the Off Limits for teenagers on the ship. It totally kept him occupied-sometimes until 1-2 a.m. We had such high expectations for Princess, so maybe that was why we were disappointed.
The entertainment wasn't professional and our other complaint was we weren't kept informed of happenings around the boat. On other cruiselines, the dining staff did some kind of entertaining one night which was special and they didn't do anything like that on this one.
